Buildings account for a significant share of Europe’s energy consumption. Making them active participants in a smarter, more flexible energy system is one of the cleaner challenges of the decade — and it requires buildings that can share data, respond to signals, and act in coordination with the grid.
ProptechOS is joining Plenergy.AI to help make that possible.
On 25 June 2026, the Plenergy.AI consortium received confirmation that its full proposal has been selected for funding under the EU Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) Joint Call 2025, co-funded under Horizon Europe. ProptechOS is a project partner alongside KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the Electricity Innovation Cluster, and a wider European consortium coordinated by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology.
What Plenergy.AI is
Plenergy.AI is a three-year European research and innovation project at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the clean energy transition. It focuses on energy data spaces — secure, interoperable frameworks for sharing energy-related data between actors across the grid — and on using AI to make that data actionable at scale. The consortium will validate the approach through real-world pilots, including a Swedish pilot involving KTH, the Electricity Innovation Cluster, and ProptechOS.
The ProptechOS angle
ProptechOS connects real estate portfolios into a single, standardised data layer, built on the open RealEstateCore ontology, where AI agents perform real operational work on live building data. In Plenergy.AI, that capability becomes a contribution to the energy system: buildings as flexible assets that share operational data, respond to grid signals, and help balance a renewable energy system in real time.
This positions ProptechOS at the meeting point of property technology, AI, and the energy transition — extending the platform’s role from building operations into the broader energy ecosystem.
“Buildings are central to the energy transition — both as major energy users and as a growing source of flexibility. Plenergy.AI lets us show how a connected real-estate portfolio, with AI acting on live building data, can plug into the wider energy system. We’re proud to bring ProptechOS’s platform to such a strong European consortium.”
